Letter From the President and CEO of Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision

Our primary concerns are the health and safety of all involved while at the same time meeting the critical need for services for our community’s population of blind and visually impaired persons. This means doing business in a new way temporarily, but thanks to today’s technology, we can continue some services until we can get back to providing the comprehensive on-site and person-to-person training services needed to maintain or regain independence in the home, community, and worksites. All future appointments will be virtual meetings via phone, text, facetime, skype, or video calls when possible or appropriate until further notice..

Please, reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. My cell phone is 813-695-4402, and Director of Programs Jennifer Brooks can be reached at 813-625-9054. All administrative functions will be completed from remote locations with limited in-office time. We can be reached at the above-listed cell phone numbers by calling or texting. All staff can also be reached via email.

Other needed resources in your local community can be accessed by dialing 2-1-1 or by contacting your local United Way.

For more information, visit the United Way serving Polk and Hardee counties and the United Way serving Hillsborough County.

Stay safe and healthy,
Sheryl K. Brown, President & CEO
